Submissions to Northwords Now
Northwords Now publishes poetry, short fiction, articles, essays and reviews that are previously unpublished. If you are submitting poetry, send no more than six poems; single poems are unlikely to be considered for publication. For prose fiction we tend to look for a limit of 4,000 words. We generally tend to seek out our own article/essay writers and reviewers but if you have any ideas then we would be very pleased to hear about them.Unsolicited submissions by email or fax are not accepted. Paper copies in the first instance, please.
Submissions should be by post only and should include a SAE for return of work - but please indicate clearly if you would like your work returned: in this age of technology it is likely that you will be able to make another copy fairly easily. We will usually respond by email to let you know about your work - however, this may not always the possible so let us know what you would like us to do.
We prefer to respond by email to submissions and will contact you asking for you to forward your work by email if it has been accepted for publication. Please allow up to 12 weeks for consideration of your work. If you have not heard from us within that time you should email us to find out what our response is or when we will have finally come to a decision about it.
As we are keen that the magazine and its contents are seen by as many people as possible, you should be aware that your work will appear on our website when each issue is published. If you have any reservations about your work appearing on the internet then please let us know and we will remove it from the online edition of the magazine.
